This young man is Faldenal. True Shepherd provided the resources for him to attend driving school and achieve a long held dream of being a driver. Haiti has an intense process for driver training and they take it quite seriously, though it's hard to see by the way the masses drive! This has helped to set Faldenal' life on an upward course and the future looks bright for this young man. In the photo he is getting ready to take a few of us across the valley to visit another church. As you can see the pick up is an incredible patchwork of repairs and innovation. Like any island and especially Haiti, all vehicles are extremely expensive to buy and to maintain. The rocky roads are particularly hard on the wheels, tires and bearings, and all the drivers are adept at on the fly fixes to get the truck rolling again.
